And Apple further suggests,

But if you access the Mac Products Guide as suggested above by Apple, and search for antivirus, absolutely no products are listed. So, even though Apple recommends using antivirus software, you are on your own finding any such software that is compatible.
While it is true MACs have various built-in security features, Apple does not guarantee they are immune from successful malicious software attacks.
As MACs increase their market share, criminals will be more inclined to turn their attention to Apple brand computers as evidenced by more frequent MAC malware infections being reported.
